T-shirt graphic design, poster design, collage illustration, typographic composition, and print production artwork.

This project reinterprets the unmistakable visual language of Salvador Dalí into a modern, collectible format, translating surrealist symbolism into apparel and print. Using layered collage, high-contrast monochrome imagery, and fragmented compositions, the designs reference melting timepieces, distorted portraits, and dreamlike spatial shifts while remaining clean and graphic enough to function on a wearable canvas. Released as a limited edition on Dalí’s birthday, the T-shirt and accompanying poster were designed to feel both archival and contemporary, blending fine art homage with streetwear sensibility. The result is a tribute that captures the eccentric, timeless spirit of Dalí while making his surreal world accessible in everyday form.

Brand Kit

The brand kit blends surrealist motifs with local architectural and cultural references to create a cohesive visual language that feels both historic and contemporary. Melting clocks, fragmented figures, and expressive hand-drawn typography nod to Dalí’s iconic imagery, while map textures and skyline silhouettes ground the design in a real place and moment. A restrained palette of black, white, and muted gold keeps the system elegant and gallery-ready, with Paralucent Text Bold providing a clean, modern structure for headlines and supporting information, while a custom Dalí-inspired script signature adds an expressive, artistic focal point that reinforces the tribute’s handcrafted, surreal character.

Early Concept Explorations

These initial variations tested different ways to translate Dalí’s surrealist motifs into wearable, high-impact graphics by experimenting with inverted imagery, stark black-and-white contrast, and layered collages of clocks, ants, maps, and architecture. Each concept explored a different balance between chaos and structure, using distortion, scale shifts, and halftone textures to capture a dreamlike atmosphere while staying legible for print. This phase helped identify the most powerful visual symbols and compositions that could bridge Dalí’s iconic surrealism with a clean, contemporary design language.

Wear Tests and Iterations

These early shirt mockups were used to evaluate how the surrealist graphics translated from flat compositions to real-world apparel. Seeing the designs at true scale revealed areas where contrast, detail density, and focal points needed refinement to remain readable and impactful when worn. This stage informed the final rework by simplifying key elements and strengthening the central composition for better visibility, print clarity, and overall balance on the body.

Final Shirt Design

The finished design brings together surrealist symbolism, archival imagery, and hand-drawn elements into a cohesive, collectible composition released in a limited run for Dalí’s birthday. Rich monochrome printing on a natural shirt stock gives the artwork a timeless, museum-quality feel while highlighting iconic motifs like the melting clock, ants, and dreamlike landscapes. Final product photography captures the tactile ink texture and balanced front/back layouts, presenting the shirt as both wearable art and a commemorative tribute piece.

Final Poster Mockups

The completed poster translates the surrealist collage into a clean, gallery-ready print that feels both archival and contemporary. High-contrast black ink on white stock emphasizes Dalí’s signature, symbolic imagery, and typographic hierarchy, allowing the composition to read clearly from a distance while rewarding close inspection with intricate detail. Displayed in real-world interior mockups, the piece functions as a refined art print that bridges educational exhibit graphics and collectible wall art.

This limited edition release captures the spirit of Dalí through layered symbolism, expressive typography, and striking monochrome contrast. The final apparel and print designs honor surrealism while presenting it in a wearable, contemporary format.

By merging fine art references with modern layout and production techniques, the project turns a historic tribute into something tangible and collectible. The result is a cohesive visual system that celebrates creativity, experimentation, and timeless artistic influence.
